We all know that shock absorber is a necessary part of the suspension system. It damps the compression and extension of the vehicle's suspension springs in order to prevent ongoing movement. The road impact is reduced and the excessive bounce back is minimized by the shock absorber. Road handling gets better on the other hand.

It is easy to judge or examine the shock absorber. Examining shock absorber does not require any technical skill. If your vehicle grips to the road during braking, negotiating a curve in the road, driving on uneven roads, then it means you don't need to worry about your shock absorber.

There is no fixed rule or time period as when to replace the shock absorber. But you can test the function of your shock absorber through simple test. Press the corner of your vehicle's bumper with full strength and then release it. If your vehicle return to its place without rebounding it means that your shock absorber is functioning well. However after release if the vehicle rebounds continuously it means the shock absorber is no longer effective and it needs a replacement. Carry out the similar tests on the remaining side of the vehicle. The working of shock absorber can also be analyzed by observing the leakage and the wear patterns of the tire.
